I am in the midst of going through my soon-to-be-deleted umich mailbox. Conspiracy theorist that I am, I am beginning to think ICTS must be in cahoots with local bars and liquor stores, because even though it's noon on a Sunday, I now very much want a drink.

Pearl Jam's new CD is not helping the mood either. "Life Wasted"? I'll trade you anytime, Mr. Vedder. But Pearl Jam is a time-honored traditon in my life just the same. I remember making a tape of Ten off my brother's CD back in the day, and listening to it when I was supposed to be asleep.

I picked the trifecta of the Preakness yesterday. Too bad I didn't bet. But sadly my childhood hero, Gary Stevens, is now in the announcer's booth.

Anyway, I should get moving. Having dinner at my brother's house.

It's been a rough couple of weeks. Mostly emotionally. And I worked 40 hours for the first time in several years (while still going to school, doing homework, etc).

I wish I could focus like I used to. Now it's just deadlines whizzing by and an ever-growing mess surrounding me. Quite literally, even. If you hear about a girl being crushed by a pile of dirty laundry, it'll be me.

Last night I dreamed about the music video for Belinda Carlisle's song "Heaven is a Place on Earth." Mainly the glowing blue globes from it actually.

Which led me to find this today:

I remember being maybe 4 or 5 years old, on one of those winter evenings when it's dark by 6pm, going through the drive-through at A&W with my mom, and listening to that song. One of those one-moment, indelible childhood memories.
